Luxembourg-headquartered global stainless steel producer Aperam SA has announced in a press release that all necessary regulatory approvals required for its acquisition of US-based Universal Stainless & Alloy Products, Inc. (Universal) have been obtained, without any conditions.
The acquisition was announced on October 17, 2024, and was approved by Universal stockholders at a special meeting held on January 15, 2025. With the completion of the acquisition, Universal has become a wholly-owned subsidiary of Aperam.
Aperam’s CEO Timoteo Di Maulo commented that the acquisition plays a key role in Aperam’s strategic plan to provide innovative, high-performance solutions for critical industries such as aerospace and to expand Aperam’s presence in the United States. Christopher Zimmer, Universal’s CEO, has also welcomed Aperam’s takeover, stating that this deal will provide the company with the resources and global reach to accelerate the company’s growth trajectory.
