ArcelorMittal Spain, a subsidiary of Luxembourg-based steel giant ArcelorMittal, has resumed wire rod and rail production at its plant in Veriña, Gijón, following a suspension of almost one month, despite ongoing low demand, according to media reports.

The company had suspended wire rod and rail production at the plant in December last year, for the second time following the suspension in October of the same year, citing low demand and weaker market conditions, as SteelOrbis previously reported.
