In December last year, sales of passenger cars and light commercial vehicles in Turkey increased by 7.3 percent year on year and by 40.6 percent month on month to 170,249 units, according to the statistics released by the Turkish Automotive Distributors and Mobility Association (ODMD). In the given month, domestic sales of passenger cars in Turkey moved up by 6.6 percent year on year and by 42.5 percent month on month to 134,811 units, while sales of light commercial vehicles increased by 9.9 percent year on year and by 33.7 percent month on month to 35,438 units.
In 2024, domestic sales of passenger cars and light commercial vehicles saw an increase of 0.5 percent year on year, amounting to 1,238,509 units. In the given year, domestic sales of passenger cars in the country grew by 1.3 percent to 980,341 units, while sales of light commercial vehicles fell by 2.7 percent to 258,168 units, both on year-on-year basis.
