Brazilian automotive production increases in July

The automotive production (cars, trucks and buses) in Brazil has reached 246,700 units in July, against 211,000 units in June.

Under the same comparative basis, domestic sales increased by 12.4 percent to 241,300 mt and exports increased by 35.0 percent to 39,100 units.

When compared to July 2023, the production in July 2024 increased by 34.8 percent, domestic sales increased by 7.0 percent, and exports increased by 28.3 percent.

For the January-July period of 2024, the production increased from the same period in 2023 by 5.3 percent to 1.384 million units, domestic sales increased by 13.2 percent to 1.385 million units, and exports declined by 21.7 percent to 204,400 units.

ANFAVEA president, Marcos de Lima Leite, said that the production of July was the highest since October 2019, adding that it reflects a period of improvement of the domestic market that started in April.

Lima Leite also mentioned for the total of 2024, the production is expected to increase from 2023 by 4.9 percent to 2.440 million units, with domestic sales increasing by 10.9 percent to 2.560 million units and exports declining by 20.8 percent to 320,000 units.
