Since there is no free trade agreement between Turkey and China, China has imposed the MFN (most favored nation) rate on some products such as pig iron and billets from Turkey, according to the statement of the State Council Tariff Commission of China. The rates became effective as of January 1, 2025. Certain ex-Turkey products exported to China will be subject to temporary reduced import customs duty rates lower than the MFN rate for 2025.
The products subject to the MFN and temporary customs duty rates currently fall under the codes 72011000, 72012000, 72015000, 72024100, 72024900, 72026000, 72027000, 72028010, 72029300, 72031000, 72039000, ex72041000, ex72044100, 72061000, 72069000, 72071100, 72071200, 72071900, 72072000, 72091810, 72181000, 72241000, 72249010, 72249090, and 72269990.
