China’s Jiangsu Yonggang starts up two billet and bloom casters

Italy-based plantmaker Danieli has announced that the two new casters that it supplied to Chinese steelmaker Jiangsu Yonggang Iron and Steel Group are now fully operating. The eight-strand billet and bloom casters are producing steel grades such as high-carbon and spring steels.

The total annual production capacity of the two casters exceeds two million mt. The two casters are designed with 10 m and 12 m nominal radiuses and a 1,370 mm strand distance to produce 160 mm × 160 mm, 200 mm × 240 mm, and up to 240 mm × 240 mm sections.
