China’s stainless steel output down 5.26 percent in H1

In the first half of this year, China’s stainless steel output amounted to 16.354 million mt, down 908,000 mt or 5.26 percent year on year, according to the Stainless Steel Council of China Special Steel Enterprises Association (CSSC).

In the January-June period, China’s stainless steel imports reached 1.685 million mt, up 19.6 percent year on year, while stainless steel exports totaled 2.421 million mt, rising by 10.6 percent year on year.

In the given period, China’s apparent consumption of stainless steel amounted to 14.005 million mt, down 5.38 percent year on year.
