CISA mills’ daily steel output up 0.34 percent in late March

The China Iron and Steel Association (CISA) has announced that in late March (March 21-31) this year the average aggregate daily crude steel output of large and medium-sized steel enterprises in China - all CISA members - totaled 2.2607 million mt, up 0.34 percent compared to mid-March (March 11-20) this year.

In mid-March this year the average aggregate daily crude steel output of large and medium-sized steel enterprises in China totaled 2.2531 million mt, up 4.71 percent compared to early March (March 1-10) this year.   

Inventory levels in the Chinese steel market decreased in the given period. As of March 31, the finished steel inventories of large and medium-sized steel enterprises in China amounted to 17.2533 million mt, decreasing by 8.99 percent compared to March 20.    

As of March 31, rebar futures at the Shanghai Future Exchange were standing at RMB 4,161/mt ($606/mt), decreasing by RMB 33/mt ($4.8/mt) or 0.8 percent since March 20.
