Coal exports from China’s Shanxi Province down 42.4 percent in Jan-Aug

On October 12, the Economic and Information Commission of China’s  Shanxi Province announced that in the January-August period of this year the province’s total coal export volume amounted to 1.51 million mt, down 1.11 million mt or 42.4 percent year on year.
 
Meanwhile, in the given period the province’s overall coal sales volume reached 381.73 million mt, down 5.14 million mt or 1.33 percent compared to the same period of last year.
 
In the January-August period, the aggregate coal output in Shanxi Province totaled 603.64 million mt, up 43.09 million mt or 7.69 percent on year-on-year basis.
