Coal output of China’s Shanxi Province reaches 588 million mt in H1

In June this year, Shanxi province, the major coal production base in China, produced 114.56 million mt of raw coal, up 8.4 percent month on month. In the first six months this year, Shanxi Province produced 588 million mt of raw coal, accounting for 25.9 percent of the overall coal output in China.

According to the China Mineral Resources Report (2023) released by the Ministry of Natural Resources of China, by the end of 2022 the country's coal resource reserves totaled 207.012 billion mt, with Shanxi Province having coal reserves of around 48.3 billion mt.
