Greece-based steel pipe supplier Corinth Pipeworks, the steel pipe segment of Belgium-based Cenergy Holdings, has announced that it was awarded two significant offshore contracts in the North Sea by UK-based engineering company Subsea7. The projects in Norway and the United Kingdom will solidify the company’s long-term presence in the region.

The first of these contracts, the Bestla project located in the Norwegian Continental Shelf, includes the supply of 12.5 kilometers of 14-inch, high-frequency welded (HFW) steel pipes. The development plan for Bestla involves a two-well subsea connection to the Brage platform, which will serve as the host facility for production, processing and export of gas and liquid fuels.

The other contract is located in the UK Central North Sea and called the Bittern project. The project entails the manufacture and supply of approximately 22 kilometers of HFW steel pipes for a 12-inch water injection pipeline, scheduled for installation in 2025.

In the scope of these projects, Corinth Pipeworks will also supply external coating applications, which will be performed at the same location as the pipe manufacturing. Corinth Pipeworks is able to apply external coating to 22.9-meter-long steel pipes within its own facility.
