According to first estimates released by Eurostat, the Statistical Office of the European Union, in November last year the seasonally-adjusted production of the construction sector in the European Union member states (EU-27) increased by 1.3 percent compared to October and went up by 0.9 percent compared to the same month of 2023. In October, production in the construction sector had increased by 0.6 percent month on month.
In the euro area, the seasonally-adjusted production of the construction sector in November went up by 1.2 percent month on month and by 1.4 percent year on year. In October, production had increased by 0.8 percent month on month.
Building construction in the EU-27 in November moved down by 0.2 percent month on month and decreased by 0.4 percent year on year, while civil engineering output in the region went up 1.3 percent month on month and by 4.2 percent year on year. In the euro area, building construction increased by 0.3 percent compared to the previous month and by 1.6 percent year on year, while civil engineering output in the region increased by 0.5 percent month on month and by 4.5 percent year on year.
As compared to October, construction output in November increased by 9.5 percent in Slovenia, by 5.4 percent in Slovakia, and by 4.7 percent in Romania, while it decreased by 3.9 percent in Portugal, two percent in Hungary and by 0.9 percent in Finland.
As compared to November 2023, construction output in November this year increased by 9.8 percent in Spain, by 8.6 percent in Bulgaria and by 4.2 percent in Belgium, while it decreased by 9.5 percent in Romania, by 5.4 percent in Poland and by 4.2 percent in Slovenia.
