Brazil exported 4,700 mt of heavy plates in July, against 2,800 mt in June.
The shipments in July were all destined to South American countries, in average at $857/mt, FOB conditions.
The exporters were Gerdau (3,700 mt at $827/mt), Usiminas (800 mt at $1,053/mt), and ArcelorMittal (200 mt at $632/mt).
Meanwhile, Brazil imported 500 mt of heavy plates in July, against 2,000 mt in June.
The imports were from China (300 mt at $1,181/mt) and Europe (200 mt at $2,541/mt), also FOB conditions.
According to analysts, rising exports and declining imports reflect the valuation of the American Dollar in relation to the Brazilian Real.
