Meanwhile, Brazil imported 500 mt of heavy plates in July, against 2,000 mt in June.

The imports were from China (300 mt at $1,181/mt) and Europe (200 mt at $2,541/mt), also FOB conditions.

According to analysts, rising exports and declining imports reflect the valuation of the American Dollar in relation to the Brazilian Real.
