Exports of niobium ferroalloys from Brazil decline in June

Brazil exported 6,200 mt of niobium ferroalloys in June, against 9,700 mt in May, according to customs.

The exports in June were destined to Asia (4,200 mt, of which 2,900 mt at $24,831/mt to China), Europe (1,400 mt at $25,213/mt), the US (300 mt at $23,963), and South Africa (100 mt at $24,540/mt), all FOB conditions, while smaller volumes were shipped to Saudi Arabia and Canada.

The exporters were from CBMM, the world’s largest producing company (4,550 mt at $25,560/mt) and CMOC (1,250 mt at $24,111/mt), while 400 mt at $21,962/mt were exported from irregular operations in the state of Amazonas.

World’s largest producer of niobium ferroalloys, Brazil exported 45,000 mt of the product during the first six months of 2024, with total revenues of $1.123 billion, against respectively 44,500 mt and $1.159 billion during the same period of 2023.
