The American oil giant ExxonMobil has named the Italian-Argentinian Tenaris as its supplier of the year 2024 “in recognition of its performance, competitiveness and high standards,” the largest producer of seamless steel pipes in the world reported in a press release.

“Over the last year, Tenaris has consistently demonstrated superior performance globally at ExxonMobil, including in Guyana (South America) and the Permian region (United States), and has effectively responded to our business needs with high standards,” said Rebecca Vest, Vice President of Sourcing at ExxonMobil, according to the press release.

ExxonMobil's designation comes as the largest oil producer in the United States, and one of the five largest in the world, is set to invest between $28.0 billion and $33.0 billion a year to increase its oil and gas production between 2026 and 2030.

Tenaris is a long-standing supplier to ExxonMobil and currently serves its upstream operations in the United States with OCTG solutions and services. It also supports ExxonMobil for drilling projects around the world, onshore and offshore, and for deepwater exploration.

ExxonMobil considered several factors for the award, including competitiveness, service quality, delivery compliance, sustainability and safety, health and environmental performance.

Tenaris, with production facilities in 15 countries, reported net sales of $14.9 billion in 2023.
