Ferrexpo’s iron ore pellet output sees slight increase in 2014

Swiss-headquartered iron ore miner Ferrexpo, whose main interests are in Ukrainian iron ore assets, has announced that in 2014 its overall iron ore pellet production increased by 1.9 percent year on year to 11.021 million mt.

In 2014, Ferrexpo's pellet production from its own raw materials increased by two percent year on year, amounting to 10.671 million mt, while its pellet production from third party concentrate stood at 350,860 mt, rising by one percent compared to 2013.

Also in 2014, output of pellets of 65 percent Fe content increased by 16.3 percent to 5.803 million mt, while output of pellets of 62 percent iron content decreased by 10.4 percent to 5.218 million mt, both on year-on-year basis.

Ferrexpo Yeristovo Mining's pellet production in the given year amounted to 3.408 million mt, up 64.9 percent, while iron ore production from Ferrexpo Poltava Mining decreased by 13.5 percent to 7.262 million mt, both compared to 2013.
