Indian passenger car sales show mixed trend in November

Indian passenger car sales or dispatches from manufacturers to dealers showed a mixed trend in November amid the pessimistic outlook, data released by various companies showed on Monday, December 2.

The largest passenger car maker in terms of market share, Maruti Suzuki India Limited (MSIL), reported sales of 181,531 units in November this year, a rise of 10.39 percent over the corresponding month of the previous year.

However, the second largest car maker Hyundai Motors India Limited (HMIL) reported sales of 61,242 units, a decline of 6.9 percent year on year. Honda Cars Limited reported sales of 10,726 units, a fall of 42 percent year on year.

Tata Motors reported sales of 47,117 passenger cars in November, a small growth of two percent over the corresponding month of the previous year, while Toyota Kirloskar India Limited reported a 44 percent year-on-year surge in November sales to 25,586 units.

JSW MG Motors Limited sold 6,017 units in November, a rise of 20 percent, while Mahindra & Mahindra reported sales of 79,083 units, a growth of 12 percent, both year on year.
