India’s coking coal import port traffic down 8% in April-November

India’s coking coal imports through all major ports in the country during the April-November period of the fiscal year 2024-255 have been provisionally estimated at 38.746 million mt, a decline of 8.21 percent year on year, according to data sourced from the Indian Ports Association (IPA) on Monday, December 9.

According to the calculations of SteelOrbis, coking coal shipped into the country in November this year worked out at 5.409 million mt, compared to 3.774 million mt shipped in during October.

According to the IPA data, iron ore port traffic, including pellets, has been estimated at 32.394 million mt in the April-November period of 2024-25, a decline of 13 percent year on year.
