India’s GPIL inks pact with GAIL India Limited for supply of natural gas for new pellet plant

India’s Godavari Power Ispat Limited has inked a seven-year pact with gas market and infrastructure company GAIL India Limited for supply of regassified liquefied natural gas (RLNG) for its upcoming iron ore pellet plant, according to a GPIL regulatory filing on Tuesday, December 17.

GPIL is constructing an iron ore pellet plant at its steel mill in Raipur in Chhattisgarh state, taking its aggregate pellet production capacity to 4.7 million mt, from 2.7 million mt per year at present.

GPIL produces sponge iron, billets, ferroalloys, wire rod, steel wires, fly-ash bricks and pellets at its Raipur mill.
