India’s Tata Steel sees 6% rise in crude steel output from domestic mills in Oct-Dec

India’s Tata Steel Limited achieved crude steel production from its domestic mills totaling 5.68 million mt, during the third quarter (October-December) of the fiscal year 2024-24, up six percent year on year, according to a company statement on Wednesday, January 8.

The company reported sales of 5.29 million mt during the given quarter, a rise of 8.4 percent year on year, on the back of steady local sales and strategic exports.

Tata Steel Netherlands reported crude steel production of 1.76 million mt for the third quarter with sales of 1.53 million mt.

Tata Steel UK's output stood at zero for the quarter on account of the closure of its blast furnaces in the second quarter of 2024-25, while its sales dropped 12.5 percent year on year to 0.56 million mt.
