Japanese crude steel output up 1.2 percent in October over September

In October this year, Japanese crude steel production was up 1.2 percent compared to the previous month, while it decreased by 1.7 percent compared to October 2013, totaling 9.36 million mt, according to the data released by the Japan Iron and Steel Federation (JISF).
 
Meanwhile, in October Japan's pig iron production totaled 7.17 million metric tons, increasing by 1.6 percent compared to the previous month and increasing by 0.1 percent year on year. 

 In the first 10 months of the current year, the country's pig iron output stood at 70 million metric tons, remaining unchanged, while its crude steel production came to 92.5 million metric tons, increasing by 0.6 percent, both on year-on-year basis.
