Japan’s JFE Steel to idle blast furnace

Japanese steel producer JFE Steel Corporation has decided to take its blast furnace No. 3 at its West Japan Works out of operation temporarily amid weaker global and local demand.

The company stated that the idling preparations will start around mid-May and that the company will shift to a quality-focused operation model rather than quantity.
