The Czech Office for the Protection of Competition (ÚOHS) has announced that it has approved the acquisition of domestic plate producer Vitkovice Steel by Jindal Steel International, a subsidiary of India-based steelmaker Jindal Group.

Accordingly, ÚOHS has determined that the acquisition does not pose a threat to the competition in the market and thereby has greenlighted it.

Vitkovice Steel operates Vitkovice Iron Works, where it produces quarto sheets and sheet piles using import slabs.
