JSPL’s crude steel production rises 36 percent in June quarter

Indian steelmaker Jindal Steel and Power Ltd (JSPL) has announced that in the first quarter ended June 30 of the financial year 2018-19 its crude steel production increased by 36 percent year on year to 1.23 million mt. In the given period, JSPL’s steel sales totaled 1.18 million mt, rising by 46 percent compared to same quarter of the previous financial year.

The company noted that the above-mentioned figures do not include the crude steel production at its subsidiary Jindal Shadeed in Oman.

JSPL stated that its subsidiary Jindal Shadeed has recorded the best-ever quarter in its history by achieving its highest-ever crude steel production as well as finished steel production and sales during the first quarter. Meanwhile, on June 24, Jindal Shadeed’s 1.5 million mt per year bar mill - the largest in the world - set a new world record with a highest single-day production of over 5,000 mt.
