NBS: Local Chinese rebar prices down 0.1% in mid-January

In mid-January this year, the average price in China of 16-25 mm HRB 400 rebar decreased by RMB 3.4/mt ($0.5/mt) or 0.1 percent to RMB 3,341.3/mt ($466/mt), compared to the price in early January, as announced by China’s National Bureau of Statistics.

In the given period, the average prices of medium plate and seamless steel pipes decreased by 0.4 percent, and 0.1 percent, the average prices of hot rolled coil (HRC) and angles rose by 0.5 percent and 0.3 percent, respectively, while the average price of wire rod remained stable, all compared to early January this year.
