Pakistan’s scrap imports down 5.5 percent in November from October

Pakistan’s scrap imports amounted to 219,765 mt in November this year, down by 5.5 percent compared to October and by 12.6 percent year on year, according to the data released by the Pakistan Federal Bureau of Statistics (PFBS). The value of these imports in the given month was $99.09 million, down by 2.4 percent month on month and by 12.9 percent year on year.

Meanwhile, Pakistan’s iron and steel imports in November amounted to 247,053 mt, down by 18.5 percent on month-on-month basis and by 18.2 percent compared to the same month previous year. In the given month, the value of Pakistan’s iron and steel imports was $162.83 million, moving down by 21.9 percent month on month and by 19.9 percent year on year.
