Pakistan’s scrap imports down 9.4 percent in December from November

Pakistan’s scrap imports amounted to 201,195 mt in December last year, down by 9.4 percent compared to November and down 17.1 percent year on year, according to the data released by the Pakistan Federal Bureau of Statistics (PFBS). The value of these imports in the given month was $85.11 million, down by 14.1 percent month on month and 20.7 percent year on year.

Meanwhile, Pakistan’s iron and steel imports in December amounted to 209,767 mt, down by 15.6 percent on month-on-month basis and up by 0.6 percent compared to the same month of the previous year. In the given month, the value of Pakistan’s iron and steel imports was $150.87 million, moving down by 7.3 percent month on month and up by 2.6 percent year on year.
