Performance of Brazilian industrial activity improves in October

In October 2024, revenues from industrial activities in Brazil showed a significant increase, reversing the decline from August to September, and relocating revenues in the uptrend initiated at the end of 2023.

The number of working hours shows a more modest increase, while the utilization rate of the installed capacity has declined. 

The indicators related to employment were stable in October, reaching thirteen consecutive months without negative results, while the volume of salaries and the average salary reached the second consecutive month of stability, following a period of strong variations.

Despite the different behaviors of Indicators in October, they all register an increase when comparing the first ten months of 2024 and the same period of 2023. 

When comparing October and September 2024, the industrial sector in Brazil had revenues increasing by 3.1 percent, working hours increasing by 0.7 percent, the employment rate increasing by 0.1 percent, the volume of salaries declining by 0.2 percent, and the average salary declining by 0.2 percent.

When comparing October 2024 to October 2023, the numbers show an increase of 15.3 percent for revenues, working hours increasing by 8.3 percent, employment rate increasing by 3.0 percent, volume of salaries increasing by 2.3 percent, and the average salary declining by 0.7 percent.
