Argentina produced 38,018 units (cars and light commercial vehicles) in December, 29.2 percent less than in November, according to the sector association ADEFA.
According to ADEFA, the lower production for December reflects less seven working days when compared to November.
Exports declined by 17.3 percent to 26,667 units and domestic sales increased by 23.3 percent to 49,469 units.
On an annual basis, comparing December 2024 to December 2023, production declined by 2.8 percent, exports increased by 22.3 percent, and domestic sales increased by 97.3 percent.
When comparing the totals of 2024 and 2023, production declined by 17.1 percent to 506,571 units, exports declined by 3.4 percent to 314,735 units, and domestic sales increased by 1.1 percent to 411,406 units.
ADEFA’s president Martin Zuppi mentioned that 2024 was a challenging year that was faced in a favorable manner with the automotive production chain and government authorities.
With this defined strategy and agenda, he expects an increase in a range of 10 to 15 percent for production, exports, and domestic sales in comparison to 2024.
