Russia’s ferrous metal import volume down 30.7 percent in January-July

Russia's ferrous metal import volume in the January-July period this year accounted for 5.8 percent of its total export volume, according to the Russian Federal Customs Service.
 
During the given period, the value of Russia’s ferrous metal imports decreased by 36.3 percent, while the import volume declined by 30.7 percent, both year on year. The steel tube import volume decreased by 43.4 percent, while the volume of flat product imports declined by 37.9 percent, year on year, as reported by the Federal Customs Service.

Russia's import of ferrous metals from CIS countries accounted for 11.6 percent of its total ferrous metal import volume in the January-July period this year, down by 54.3 percent in terms of value and decreasing by 44.2 percent in terms of volume, year on year. In the given period, Russia's flat product imports from the CIS decreased by 30.2 percent, while its steel tube imports from the region decreased by 52.3 percent, both year on year.
