Russia’s MMK achieves new record HRC output at its Mill 2000 in May

Russian steelmaker MMK Group has announced that the output of HRC at its rolling Mill 2000 hit a new production record in May this year.

Accordingly, in May MMK produced 534,174 mt of HRC at its rolling Mill 2000, exceeding the previous record achieved in July 2018 by 1.18 percent. The record output was mostly a result of extra loading of the mill, caused by maintenance works at another of the company’s key rolling mills.

MMK's rolling Mill 2000 makes it possible to produce the full range of MMK steel grades. Sheet width varies from 760 mm to 1,830 mm. The mill produces thousands of different products for various industries including pipes, construction and machinery manufacturing, and represents the widest product mix at MMK. It produces marine and structural steel grades, as well as rolled products, which are subsequently made of automotive sheets, the company stated.
