S. Arabia’s first tinplate plant to start production by 2027

Saudi Arabia-based Al Watania for Industries has announced that it has signed an agreement with Chinese steelmaker Donghexin Group to jointly establish the first integrated tinplate manufacturing plant in Saudi Arabia.

The plant, which will be built in Ras Al-Khair Industrial City, will have an annual production capacity of 400,000 mt of tinplate, meeting domestic demand. The project will also enable Saudi Arabia to become a regional exporter of tinplate in the MENA region. The plant is expected to commence production operations by early 2027.
