Stainless steel consumption in Russia rises 6.2% in 2013

According to Russia-based SpetsStal Association, in 2013 the volume of stainless steel consumption in Russia rose by 6.2 percent year on year to 383,900 mt. In the year in question, domestic stainless steel output rose by 18.4 percent to 154,800 mt, stainless steel exports increased by 163.3 percent to 22,400 mt, while stainless steel imports rose by 5.1 percent to 251,600 mt, all year on year. The share of stainless steel imports in Russia's overall stainless steel consumption in 2013 decreased to 65,5 percent, compared to a 66.2 percent share in 2012.
