Turkey’s Çemtaş plans to commission Kars solar power plant in Q1 2025

Bursa-based Turkish steelmaker Çemtaş Çelik Makina Sanayi ve Ticaret A.Ş (Çemtaş) has announced that it has received the building permit from the Kars Special Provincial Administration for its solar power project.

Accordingly, after receiving the building permit, the company plans to complete the project and commission it in the first quarter of next year. Initially, the plant was scheduled for start-up in the fourth quarter of the current year, but the permit process took longer than expected.

Entailing an investment of TRY 850.82 million ($24.13 million), the plant with a capacity of 32 MWe will consist of 77,302 photovoltaic panels, generating about 66.6 million kW of energy per year.
