Turkey’s Erdemir to build solar power plant in Ağrı

Turkey’s Ministry of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change has announced that the examination and evaluation process within the scope of the environmental impact assessment (EIA) application made by local steel producer Ereğli Demir ve Çelik Türk A.Ş. (Erdemir) for its solar power plant project in Hamur, Ağrı, has begun.

Within the scope of the project with an investment cost of TRY 983.67 million ($27.81 million), a total of 129,978 panels each with a power output of 550 Wp and 10 inverters will be installed. The plant with a capacity of 50 MWe is expected to generate 93.32 million kWh of energy per year.
