Turkey’s HRC imports down by 19.7 percent in January-October

In October this year, Turkey’s hot rolled coil (HRC) imports amounted to 275,739 mt, up by 22.4 percent compared to September and down by 7.5 percent year on year, according to the preliminary data provided by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK). Meanwhile, the value of these imports totaled $165.43 million, rising by 21.1 percent compared to the previous month and declining by 14.9 percent year on year.

In the January-October period, Turkey’s HRC imports amounted to 2,937,367 mt, down 19.7 percent, while the value of these imports fell by 24.0 percent to $1.89 billion, both year on year.

In the given period, Turkey’s largest HRC import source was China, which supplied 1,506,323 mt. China was followed by Egypt with 469,353 mt and Russia with 306,612 mt.
