Turkey’s Isdemir to build two solar power plants in Diyarbakır

Turkey’s Ministry of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change has announced that the examination and evaluation process within the scope of the environmental impact assessment (EIA) application made by local steel producer İskenderun Demir ve Çelik A.Ş. (İsdemir) for its two solar power plant projects in Dicle and Lice, Diyarbakır, have begun.

Within the scope of the project in Dicle with an investment cost of TRY 4.5 billion ($126.84 million), a total of 310,932 panels will be installed. The plant with a capacity of 140 MWe is expected to generate 311.92 million kWh of energy per year.

In addition, at the plant to be built in Lice with an investment of TRY 701.68 million ($19.78 million), a total of 92,718 panels will be installed. The plant with a capacity of 40 MWe is forecast to generate 73.7 million kWh of energy per year.
