Turkey’s wire rod exports increase by 119.9 percent in January-May

In May this year, Turkey’s wire rod exports amounted to 41,137 metric tons, up by 0.4 percent compared to April and by 3.7 percent year on year, according to the preliminary data provided by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK). Meanwhile, the revenue generated by these exports totaled $25.46 million, increasing by 0.5 percent compared to the previous month and decreasing by 5.6 percent year on year.

In the January-May period, Turkey's wire rod exports amounted to 429,597 mt, up 119.9 percent, while the value of these exports increased by 92.2 percent to $266.67 million, both year on year.

In the given period, Turkey’s largest wire rod export destination was Romania which received 123,234 mt. Romania was followed by Belgium with 34,548 mt and Bulgaria with 32,913 mt.
