In November last year, Turkey’s iron ore imports amounted to 267,890 metric tons, down by 60.1 percent compared to October and by 63.2 percent year on year, according to the preliminary data provided by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK). Meanwhile, the revenue generated by these imports totaled $31.39 million, decreasing by 55.6 percent compared to the previous month and by 62.9 percent year on year.
In the January-November period, Turkey's iron ore imports amounted to 9,081,571 mt, up 14.1 percent, while the value of these imports increased by 13.9 percent to $1.12 billion, both year on year.
In the given period, Turkey’s largest iron ore import source was Brazil, with 4,694,655 mt. Brazil was followed by Ukraine with 1,094,683 mt and Sweden with 989,927 mt.
