Turkish PPGI exports down 46.56 percent in November

According to the data provided by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK), in the first 11 months of 2013 Turkey's pre-painted galvanized iron (PPGI) exports amounted to 191,493 mt, increasing by a slight margin of 0.23 percent, while the revenue from these exports rose to $204.01 million, up 1.65 percent, both compared to the same period of 2012. Turkey's PPGI exports had totaled 202,032 metric tons in 2012.
 
In November last year, Turkey's PPGI exports decreased by 46.56 percent year on year to 7,918 metric tons, and were down 1.30 percent month on month. The revenue from these exports amounted to $9.11 million, down 42.31 percent year on year and increasing by 1.70 percent month on month. Bulgaria was Turkey's top export destination for PPGI in November last year, receiving 1,341 mt.
 
In the first 11 months of 2013, a significant decrease was recorded in Turkey's PPGI export volume to Russia, which fell by 24.69 percent year on year to 81,117 mt, due to high inventory levels and weak demand in the Russian market. Meanwhile, in the same period Turkey's PPGI exports to Azerbaijan increased by 71.02 percent to 18,000 metric tons.
