UNESID: Spanish steel output down 6.7 percent in Nov from Oct

According to the Spanish steelmakers association UNESID, in November last year, Spain’s steel production totaled 1 million mt, down by 6.7 percent month on month and by 3.8 percent year on year. In the January-November period of 2024, the country’s steel production totaled 11.04 million mt, compared to 10.7 million mt recorded in the same period of 2023.

In the given month, the Spanish steel industry recycled 804,000 mt of scrap to be used for new steel products, dropping by 7.8 percent compared to October and by 5.9 percent year on year. In the first 11 months of last year, the industry recycled 8.78 million mt of scrap.
