Late Friday, the United Steelworkers Local 8782 posted on its website that 79 percent of the membership voted on the new proposal from US Steel, and 57 percent voted to accept the contract offer.

Workers and US Steel agreed on a five-year contract at the slab and flat rolled mill, and said that employees will be getting back to work within the next 30 days, although it remains uncertain as when shipments from integrated facility would resume.

A lockout at the mill began in April of this year and previous contract proposals were rejected.
