US beam exports up 18.3 percent in November from October

According to export data from the US Department of Commerce, US exports of heavy structural shapes (including U, I, H, L, and T section beams) totaled 23,631 mt in November last year, up 18.3 percent from October and down 4.1 percent from November 2023. By value, beam exports totaled $27.7 million in November, compared to $22.3 million in the previous month and $30.6 million the same month of 2023.

The US shipped the most beams to Canada in November with 18,426 mt, compared to 11,642 mt in October and 17,547 mt in November 2023. The other top destinations included Mexico with 3,658 mt. There were no other significant destinations (1,000 mt or more) for US beam exports in November.
