US DOC makes positive determination on imports of butt-weld pipe fittings

On Friday, the US Department of Commerce (DOC) announced the final results of its expedited sunset review of the antidumping (AD) orders on stainless steel butt-weld pipe fittings from Italy, Malaysia, and the Philippines.

As expected, the DOC made an affirmative determination, finding that revocation of these orders would be likely to lead to the continuation or recurrence of dumping.

The US International Trade Commission (ITC) is also conducting an expedited sunset review of these orders, which virtually guarantees that the ITC will make an affirmative determination and that the orders will be continue for a further period of five years.

The butt-weld fittings subject to the orders are currently classifiable under subheading 7307.23.0000 of the Harmonized Tariff Schedule of the United States (HTSUS).
