US HDG imports down 15.6 percent in November from October

According to preliminary census data from the US Department of Commerce, US imports of hot dipped galvanized sheets totaled 189,726 mt in November last year, down 15.6 percent from October and up 12.2 percent from November of 2023. By value, HDG imports totaled $210.2 million in November this year, compared to $248.7 million in the previous month and $194.5 million in the same month in 2023.

The US imported the most HDG from Canada in November with 59,059 mt, compared to 78,057 mt in October and 70,146 mt in November last year. Other top sources of imported HDG in November include Vietnam with 35,231 mt, Mexico with 22,071 mt, the UAE with 18,054 mt, and South Africa with 14,165 mt.
