US HRC exports up 6.6 percent in October from September

According to export data from the US Department of Commerce, US exports of hot rolled coils totaled 74,759 mt in October this year, up 6.6 percent from September and up 13.6 percent from October last year. By value, HRC exports totaled $68.2 million in October, compared to $66.2 million in the previous month and $65.6 million the same month last year.

The US shipped the most HRC to Mexico in October with 51,334 mt, compared to 43,861 mt in September and 42,090 mt in October last year. The other top destination was Canada, with 23,085 mt. There were no other significant destinations (1,000 mt or more) for US HRC exports in October.
