US HRC imports down 48.4 percent in November from October

According to preliminary census data from the US Department of Commerce, US imports of hot rolled sheet totaled 120,416 mt in November last year, down 48.4 percent from October and down 9.6 percent from November 2023. By value, HRC imports totaled $94.3 million in November last year, compared to $138.5 million in October and $106.1 million in the same month of 2023.

The US imported the most HRC from Canada in November with 75,371 mt, compared to 84,466 mt in October and 76,106 mt in November 2023. Other top sources of imported HRC in November include South Korea with 22,053 mt, the Netherlands with 9,582 mt, Mexico with 5,864 mt, and Belgium with 3,607 mt.
