US rebar imports up 56.4 percent in October from September

According to preliminary census data from the US Department of Commerce, US imports of rebar totaled 87,770 mt in October this year, up 56.4 percent month on month and down 8.2 percent year on year. By value, rebar imports totaled $52.4 million in October this year, compared to $26.3 million in September and $56.5 million in October last year.

The US imported the most rebar from Algeria in October with 30,031 mt. Other top sources of imported rebar in October include Vietnam with 17,997 mt, Mexico with 8,180 mt, Portugal with 6,556 mt, and Ukraine with 6,366 mt.
