US rig count drops week-on-week while Canadian rig count increases

Baker Hughes has reported that for the week ending on June 28, 2024, the US rotary rig count decreased by seven to 581.

The number of rigs drilling for gas is down one to 97, while the number of rigs drilling for oil decreased by one to 484. The overall US rig count is down by 101 rigs in a year-on-year comparison.

Meanwhile, the Canadian rig count increase by 10 week on week to 176 rigs in the week ending June 28. The Canadian rig count is up by 9 rigs compared to the same reporting period in the previous year.
