US rig count remains the same week-on-week and Canadian rig count decreases

Baker Hughes has reported that for the week ending on January 3, 2025, the US rotary rig count remained unchanged at 589.

The number of rigs drilling for gas increased by one to 103 and the number of rigs drilling for oil decreased by one to 486. The overall US rig count is down by 32 rigs in a year-on-year comparison.

Meanwhile, the Canadian rig count decreased by one to 94 rigs in the week ending January 3. The Canadian rig count was down by 31 compared to the same reporting period in the previous year.
